April 13, 2012

This morning I got up at 8:00 since we were working mainly from Nido. I got ready and head up 1 floor to the 4th floor commons room to work (the 3rd floor outlets don’t work). We worked until noon, when we broke for an hour for lunch, then went back to work until 2:50, so we could get ready for an interview. The original time of the interview was 3:30 PM, but was pushed an hour to 4:30 since the person had prior commitments, the late time was a bit obnoxious but since it was an important interview we went with the time change.
We left at 3:20 and caught the Northern line to Morden, near where the interview was. We were told it would be about a 15 minute walk, and after about 10 minutes we were still not near it so checked our maps and decided why we were not close. We apparently missed a turn we needed, but I got us back on track and we ended up being just a few minutes late (not good but it happens when we get a bit lost). After the interview, which went pretty well, we head back to Morden station and took the Tube back to Nido.

Once back at Nido I was planning on texting Erin to ask her what she wanted to do tonight, but she had emailed me, so we talked briefly and I told her I wanted to go (because Bryan said I should) to Hamley’s and Ben’s Cookies. She was up for it so after dinner we met up and head to Oxford Circus. At Ben’s Cookie’s I got 2 cookies, a milk chocolate and double chocolate chunk. Both were absolutely delicious, my favorite was the milk chocolate chunk one. Hamley’s was also really really cool, it was a 5 story toy store (though one floor was under renovation). I liked the top floor because they had legoes, including the lego royal wedding, a lego crown, and a lego queen. They also had a lego telephone box which was pretty cool.

After Hamley’s we walked a bit and eventually got back to Nido around 10. I mapped it out, we ended up walking about 3 miles because from Hamley’s we walked by Trafalger Square, down near Parliament, through part of St. Jame’s Park, and by Buckingham Palace before heading back onto the tube.
