Today was our first day at our sponsor, and it was pretty good. I got up at 7:45 and we left Nido about 9:00 AM. We started at the Liverpool Street Station took the tube a couple stops, then caught the train out to where we switched to our bus. I did learn a valuable lesson: to get a door to open be sure to hit the open button so that you don’t miss your stop. After we missed our stop we got off at the next one (making sure to hit the button) and took the first train going where we just came from. After getting off at our stop we caught the bus, which let out right in front of our sponsor, Commonside Community Development Trust.

CCDT

Once there we met with Naomi, and had a brief meeting with her talking about basic stuff. They were all really nice there which I was very exited about. We were also happy that we will get free lunches whenever we go to work there, which is very nice of them. Another member of the staff, Andy took us on a tour of the building and we met several volunteers and staff. After our tour of the building we went to a staff meeting to be introduced and then had a conversation with Ann, who will be running an event which we could use and she could use our help with. She also put us in contact with loads of people who will be useful, and we even set up a meeting for Thursday!  After meeting with Ann we had lunch, I had brought a salad in case we didn’t get food there, but everyone else got sandwiches. After lunch we worked on revising our goals and objectives based on our talks with our sponsor so far. We also got a chance to speak with someone who we will like to meet with later on. We head out about 3:15 PM and ventured our way back. We took a bus to the train, took a train heading to Victoria Station, and then took the Tube from Victoria to Liverpool Street. After getting back I had dinner since I was a bit hungry, and I had Pasta, and toasted bread with olive oil. I think tomorrow for lunch I’ll have some veggies.

From the ride home...so many houses all in a row
